Both run on the same platform: same contacts, deliverability, and inbox. Pick Marketing if you send broadcasts and automations to a contact list. Pick Developer if you send transactional email triggered by events in your app. A company that needs both runs one workspace for each.

The one thing that varies. An action is one AI generation: an inline rewrite, a reply draft, a full email, a brand kit, a whole sequence. Larger generations draw more than one. They reset monthly, so capacity isn't hoarded. Reading and sorting replies never uses AI actions. Writing does: an inline text is 1, a reply draft 2, a full email 3. Connecting mailboxes and importing contacts never cost actions either.

Every new workspace is free for its first 15 days, and you don't add a card. In those 15 days you can send 3,000 emails in total and use 50 AI actions, 5 automations and 1 sending domain. New accounts send up to 200 emails a day at first, and sending needs a verified domain. After 15 days you choose a plan, and your card is charged for it straight away; there is no second trial. If you haven't chosen yet, sending waits, and your domain, contacts, drafts and history are kept. The same applies to marketing and developer plans. Connect your mailboxes, import your contacts (CSV import handles up to 50,000 rows per file), and we classify your recent history so you see the product working on your data on day one.

You hit a soft wall, not a surprise bill. We warn you at 80% and 90%, then marketing sends and AI generation pause until the meter resets, you move up a plan, or we raise it for you. Transactional email on a paid plan keeps sending so your users aren't affected. We never auto-charge you into a bigger plan. (This is also how every plan stays honest. Your usage can't silently outrun what you pay.)
