Bring your list.
Leave the per-contact bill.
Email Digit never counts or charges for contacts. Plans are priced by the emails you send, from $7 a month. Moving over is an export, an import and four DNS records, and if you would rather not do it alone, we do it with you at no charge.
Four things come with you.
Each one has a path in the product. None of them needs a developer.
Your contacts
Export a CSV from your current tool and import it. You map each column to email, name, phone, a tag or a custom field; duplicates on the same address merge on the way in, with tags and field values kept. Files are read in parts of 50,000 rows, so size is not a limit.
Your templates
Paste an email's HTML into the builder and it becomes an editable document. The previous platform's tracking pixel and merge tags are removed on paste, so nothing reports back to the old tool.
Your domain
Publish three CNAMEs and one TXT record once. Your old tool keeps sending while the records verify, so there is no gap. After that, key rotation and DMARC step-ups are one click each.
Your replies
Connect the mailbox your campaigns reply to (Gmail, Microsoft or IMAP) and every reply is read, sorted and scored from the first day. Recent replies to campaigns you sent before you moved are read too; how far back depends on the plan's reply history.
Two things to carry over by hand.
We would rather you read this here than find out after the first send.
- Unsubscribes and bounces. A contacts export rarely includes who opted out or bounced; that record stays in the old tool. Export those lists too and remove them from the file before you import it. Email Digit checks a file before import and keeps anyone already on your do-not-send list from becoming sendable, but it cannot see the old tool's history.
- Consent. Every import asks where these people gave permission (a signup form, a purchase, an event, an existing relationship) and records who said so. It takes a moment and it is what keeps a moved list honest.
Three steps, in order.
Done in one sitting for most lists. Larger moves get a second pair of hands, below.
- Export. In Mailchimp, open the audience and export it; in Klaviyo, open the list and export it. Take the unsubscribed and bounced lists as separate files. Any tool that exports a CSV works the same way.
- Import and connect. Create a workspace, import the file and map the columns, then add the four DNS records for your sending domain. Here is the exact path at Cloudflare, GoDaddy and Namecheap.
- Send to your most engaged people first. A new domain starts on a daily ceiling that rises only on clean days, and an import whose bounces climb is paused on its own, without stopping the rest of your account. Sending to the freshest contacts first keeps that first exposure small. How to import an old list safely.
Priced by sends, not by the list.
Put your list size and monthly volume into the calculator and see the plan you would land on next to what the per-contact tools charge for the same numbers.
Assisted migration, no fee.
Send your export to info@emaildigit.com, with two times that suit you, and we map the columns, flag what should not be imported and set up the domain with you on a call. There is no charge for this on any plan.
Can I run both tools for a while?
Yes. Keep sending from the old tool until your domain verifies here and your first campaign has gone out. Nothing in the move switches the old tool off.
Will my tags and custom fields survive?
Tags map to tags. Custom columns map to custom fields you define during import, and a contact that already exists keeps its values and gains the new ones.
Do I need a card to try the import?
No. Create a workspace, import the file and connect your domain with no card. A card is needed when you send; every plan then starts with a 14-day trial, first charge on day 14, and you can cancel before then from Manage billing and pay nothing.
Your list is welcome here, however big it is.
Unlimited contacts on every plan. Fourteen days to see it working on your own data.
